Effective immediately, we are temporarily suspending our classes and dances at La Tangueria Esposito.
This action is an advised community response from the BC government to the growing cases of Covid-19, caused by the recently discovered (and highly transmissible) Coronavirus. Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s chief medical health officer highlighted the likelihood of more points of community contact and urged people to consider avoiding large gatherings and to keep their distance.
“At this time, I am asking people to consider having virtual gatherings, to consider not coming together, particularly if you have people in your gathering who are elderly,” she continued, “Now’s the time to put some distance between us, to keep our germs to ourselves.”
Hopefully we will have a better sense of the development of this disease and what the future holds for classes and dances this spring.
We have not made this proactive decision easily or lightly. It is an appropriate response to the circumstances and the best way for us to support the health of our community. Let’s hope for a turn around to this situation soon.
